On February 19th, 2017, during the early wee morning at around 3 a.m., Clayton, along with two friends took off and were driving on LA417 traveling southbound.
They were driving in Clayton's 2003 GMC Sierra. Clayton was not wearing his seatbelt, and unfortunately lost control of the vehicle and went off road in a curve, hit a culvert, and flipped. The vehicle overturned. Due to the nature of the crash and not wearing his seatbelt, he did not survive.
The two other passengers did survive and were transported to Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center with severe injuries.
It has also been reported that impairment is suspected to be a factor in this crash and a toxicology sample will be taken from Jarreau for analysis.
A sample of Jarreau’s blood will be sent to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis.
