Christopher Steele is the Director of Orbis Business Intelligence. He is based in London and lives in Surrey.

Steele attended Cambridge University and was a member of the Cambridge Union. A friend described him as a confirmed Socialist.

Christopher Steele was recruited by MI-6 after he graduated from university. He was based in Russia at the end of the Cold War and throughout the 1990s. Steele was also based in Paris and worked under the cover of being a diplomat during both of his assignments. Steele was known to have a good reputation in the intelligence world. ^[1]

After he retired from MI-6, he entered the private sector and founded Orbis Business Intelligence with his partner and former British diplomat Chris Burrows in 2009. One of his first assignments was gathering information for the FIFA corruption scandal for the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Christopher Steele has been confirmed as the source of the dossier that stated Donald Trump had deep ties to Russia and was involved in sexually perverse activities.

The whole affair has been aptly named pissgate. After his name was revealed to be the source. Steele left his cat with his neighbors and fled the country. ^[1]

Steele is married and has three children and a cat.

They live in a gated home in Surrey.
