In 1986, when Robertson was in fifth grade, he designed his first typeface, "Christian".
Robertson is a former student of Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, where he received Bachelor of Fine Arts degree as a graphic designer.
Robertson runs his own type foundry, BetaType, which is located in California. He also holds the position of Associate Director of Visual Design at a California-based interface design company, Punchcut.
