Background
Early Life
Born and raised in the city of Los Angeles, California, she grew up in a household close to 15 relatives. She has 8 younger brothers and sisters and grew partially connected to the native community, and partially alienated. [9]
Career

With 15 years of experience in community organizing and consulting, she has become a sought after expert in research projects that have been funded by numerous organizations.
The work usually involves addressing the reasons Native Americans in the United States are underrepresented in the local and state political landscape within the historical & contemporary landscape. [3]
She has led a national collaborative network of Native American families and organizations that mobilize through indigenous cultural values in order to inspire positive change in Native communities.
She is the Vice-Chairperson of the Los Angeles City-County Native American Indian Commission. She is also an elected member of the Native American Caucus of the California Democratic Party. [7]
