Christopher Nigel Donnelly (born 10 November 1946) is the co-Director of the Institute for Statecraft. [1]
Early Life & Education
Donnelly was born in Rochdale, Lancashire and attended the University of Manchester.
Career
Donnelly spent 20 years instructing and researching Soviet studies at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst before joining NATO in 1989 as a Special Adviser for Central and Eastern European Affairs to four Secretary Generals. [1]
In 2003, Donnelly founded the UK Defence Academy's Advanced Research and Assessment Group.
He became Director of the Institute for Statecraft in 2010 and is an adviser to the Foreign Minister of Lithuania as well as a trustee of Forward Thinking and the Active Change Foundation. He serves as an Honorary Colonel in the Specialist Group Military Intelligence Army Reserve since 2015. [3][4]
Donnelly's salary in 2018 from the Institute was £72,600.
