Howard attended University of Oxford from 2003-2006, where she received a Master's degree in human sciences.

She was an assistant producer at Passionate Productions from 2005-2006, where she worked on the BBC documentary 'Family that Walks on All Fours' & 'Pedigree Dogs Exposed'.

In 2006, she joined Euromoney as a reporter for Latin America coverage. She then joined Thomson Reuters in May 2010 as a reporter and producer. In February 2012, she joined Bloomberg as a producer where she produced 1 or 2 hour long news shows on Bloomberg TV.
