Chimezie Imo was born on 7th of January, 1992 in Lagos State. He originally hails from Orsu local government in Imo State in the eastern part of Nigeria and had his eyes set on becoming an actor from the young age of 6.
Education
Chimezie Imo has his elementary education in Abuja as he attended Jabi Primary school for basic education before moving to Government Science Secondary School, Pyakasa, where he had his secondary school examination. After graduating from secondary school, he attended Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University in Bauchi State, later on graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied ecology. [15]

As a child Chimezie Imo had enjoyed acting, little did he know that that passion was going to make him famous later on in life, at the tender age of seven he joined the drama group in his church and was a member of the church choir too. After graduating from school he had his mind set on making appearances as an actor and just waited for the right opportunity ,this door was opened in 2014 as he was a participant in The Next Movie Star Reality television show[17] ,a Nigerian talent show created by Sola Fajobi that majors in giving upcoming acting sensations a platform to be discovered and to show their unique acting skills. Chimezie gladly walked through the doors of this opened opportunity as he emerged as the runner up in that edition. [16]
He later would go on in the year 2014 to make his first major stride in the Nigerian movie industry ( Nollywood) as he made his acting debut after attending the audition in Abuja in the Film Learning Curves starring with movie veterans Jim Iyke, Ivie Okujaye and Chuks Chyke in the Chris Ode drama TV series that was also directed by Ndu Scott.
Chimezie Imo has said the role that poised much difficulty for him as yet been in Nimbe, a 2019 film where he starred alongside popular Nollywood actors Odunlade Adekola, Toyin Abraham, Rachael Okonkwo and was directed by Tope Alake. [19]
“Nimbe is probably my most challenging role yet.
But I love a good challenge, so it was exciting to take it up.”
