Murder of Malcolm Malcolm Evans

On August 26, 2016 Cheryl was arrested by New Castle County Police for Malcolm Evans's murder. She was charged with first-degree murder, firearm possession during commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a person prohibited due to past felony conviction. [undefined]
Cheryl is being held without bail at Baylor Women's Correctional Institution, her preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 31.
Malcolm Evans was leaving his home in the 600 block of Country Path Drive to go to work when at about 4 a.m. Cheryl fired a shot into his black BMW, hitting him in the upper body, police said. [undefined]
He then lost control of the vehicle, crashing his car near the entrance of Rutledge.
A witness at the scene of the crash told police there were several men in the area, but they left before emergency personnel arrived.
In an attempt to bring justice sooner to the family, New Castle County Executive Thomas P. Gordon pledged to double the $20,000 in reward money for those offering information leading to an arrest or conviction. Criminal Record
Court records indicate that Cheryl has one prior arrest from 2014 for motor vehicle infractions.
