His friends and family reacted offered their reactions to the press, and admitted that for the most part, they felt very shocked to have heard the news.

The principle of Tokata Learning Center, Eric Serbus, said the following about Tuseth:

“He was an innovative teacher...

He was always looking for the next and best way to connect with students.

He brought his experience of project-based learning from the Integrated Arts Academy to Shakopee Public Schools.

He was on the cutting edge of learning.”

[3]

The superintendent of Shakopee School, Dr. Rob Thompson said in a statement:

“I first met Chase over the summer when I was invited to be a guest speaker for the University of Minnesota’s educational leadership program...

From our very first introduction, I immediately knew he would be an excellent addition to our district teaching staff and that he had the ‘it factor’ to become an exceptional administrator.

We will miss his ambition, spirit, passion and dedication to our students and families.”

[3]

His uncle offered a statement regarding how surprised he is that his nephew would be a threat to police, and he never has never been in any serious trouble with the law.

His uncle says: “This is just too weird, you know...

It doesn’t have to escalate to this.”

His uncle believes his nephew was probably socializing with his old college town as his car was parked in a lot that was miles away, as he had a habit of ordering a cab each time he went out drinking. He

says: “We only assume he had been drinking... I'm

not saying Chase didn't do anything wrong. He

did, in effect... But

we think this is a case of excessive force. I

mean, four shots? Come

on."[3]
