Sayoc has been arrested 10 times by Florida Department of Law Enforcement, including once in 2002 for making a bomb threat.

Sayoc was sentenced in August 2002 for threatening to throw a bomb in a conversation with a Florida utility representative.

His other arrests include several for larceny, including a shoplifting charge in West Palm Beach, Florida in 2015.
