Biography
Cami is the daughter of columnist Karen Montalva and Alex Gallardo, and the eldest of her four brothers.
Her interest in music came when she was only 6 years old, her father being the one who encouraged her to learn different instruments.
With a cover of the song "Gracias a la Vida" by Violeta Parra, which her father recorded and uploaded to YouTube, the young singer began to gain followers on social networks.
As a teenager, Cami studied in the United States where she learned English and increased her knowledge of music. At 18, she was part of the first Chilean version of the talent search program The Voice[2] where she finished in second place.
Career
After coming second on The Voice, Cami released her first studio album called Rosa in 2018, from which were singles "Más de la mitad", "Abrázame" and "No es real", among others. Her second album is titled Monster [4], with singles such as "La Despedida", "Aquí Estoy" and "Vuelvo".
Influences and style
Cami's musical style is folk and soul and her music is also oriented towards pop and blues. Her favorite artists and noted influences in her music are, Amy Winehouse, Violeta Parra, The Beatles, Adele, Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Aretha Franklin, Queen, Nina Simone, John Mayer and Víctor Jara. Her favorite album is Back to Black by British artist Amy Winehouse, and she admires Freddie Mercury musically. In several interviews, she has indicated that he would love to collaborate with Natalia Lafourcade, Resident and Ed Sheeran.
