Calvin Lo (Chinese name: 盧啟賢) is a billionaire entrepreneur and philanthropist from Hong Kong.[14][15]
Career
Calvin Lo is the Chief Executive officer of R.E. Lee International, a life insurance brokerage firm founded in 1954, offering business succession and estate planning services to businesses and high-net-worth individuals.[16][17] It’s estimated that his group places US$1 billion of premiums annually. Under Lo, the group formed R.E. Lee Capital providing wealth management and advisory services with US$8 billion under management.[24][1]
Wealth & Philanthropy
In 2019, Forbes estimated Lo's personal net worth at US$1.7 billion and ranked him as the 43rd richest person in Hong Kong.[25][26] Public filings show that Lo has set up different charitable trusts in the Cayman Islands worth US$245 million for his philanthropic initiatives.[27]
Lo was a board member of the Jane Goodall Institute from 2006 to 2018, and advocated the well-being of animals, the community and the environment.[28]
To help with the Covid 19 relief efforts in 2020, Lo donated US$5 million, 500,000 masks, and 35,000 boxes of sanitizers to help with the underprivileged in Taiwan and Hong Kong, and US$8 million to the hard-hit province of Wuhan.
