Caden Berry was a 7th grade student at Claggett Creek Middle School in Keizer, Oregon.

He was the son of Amy Marie Robertson. Caden owned a pet duck. ^[1] Neighbors and friends remember him as well liked among the community.

On January 14, 2017, Berry was found dead inside his mother's apartment in Keizer, Oregon. Keizer Police Department and fire personnel were called to the Riverwood Apartments at 175 Garland Way North around 12:40 p.m, when they found him. His mother had strangled him to death.

Caden's mother was also at the scene and cooperated with police when they arrived.

She was taken into custody and remains cooperative.

She faces a charge of aggravated murder and was booked into the Marion County Correctional Facility on January 15, 2017 without bail.

Police are investigating Caden's death as a homicide. A neighbor who witnessed his mother before her arrest, seen her yelling in the courtyard. She was reportedly swinging her arms around and referencing demons to another neighbor.

An unidentified neighbor asked her to calm down.

The neighbor then asked her about her son.

She replied that he was in the apartment under a blanket.

After first checking on Caden in his room, the neighbor searched further and found him in the living room.

There was a recliner tipped over and he was halfway on it under a blanket.

He wasn’t breathing and was cold.

His head was laying on the arm of the up-turned recliner, covered with the blanket.
