Shooting Of Police Officer
On April 26th, 2017, Sealy and a friend were at a convenience store as Police Officer Stephen J. Ballard answered a call to suspicious activity near the stores on 1600 Block of off Pulaski highway. [1] The officer arrived at the scene and inspected the suspicious vehicle. The two friends were inside Wawa and when they exited the store and walked back to their car, Officer Ballard waited for them. They got inside the car, and Officer Ballard approached the vehicle.
He asked Sealy a series of questions, and moments later a struggle ensued while he was still inside the car.
Sealy exited the vehicle and the struggle between the two cops continued until Sealy was able to push him off.
As Sealy pushed him off, he ran several feet to get some room, took out his pistol from the holster, and shot at the officer.
Officer Ballard received several shots and went down.
Sealy then stepped over the officer, and pointed his gun, and executed him.
Sealy Ran away from the scene on foot and his first impulse was to get to his home.
He has since barricaded himself inside of the house.
More than a dozen cops have arrived outside of the scene of the crime and where the officer was shot which was outside of Sealy's home.
Sealy has barricaded himself inside and is apparently alone according to reports.
He occasionally fires multiple shots toward the officers.
