Robert Balotsky, better known as Buku, is a DJ and electronic music producer based in Pittsburgh, PA.

Robert first became interested in electronic music back in high school.

At first, he listened to downtempo artists such as Boards of Canada. He really became interested into EDM in 2009 during the "UKF era" and around the time deadmau5 was gaining popularity. His musical influences include Boards of Canada, Moderat/Modeselektor, Bonobo, and Kendrick Lamar.

Buku has released music under labels such as OWSLA’s NEST HQ, UKF’s Pilot Records, as well as features on Fool’s Gold, Main Course & Mad Decent.
