On Friday, December 29, 2017, Craig was taken into custody after allegedly fatally shooting her boyfriend's 7-year-old son, Kaden Green, in Greenville, Texas. ^{[11] [6] [2]}

Authorities in Greenville were called out to a house in the 4200 block of Pickett Street in reference to a disturbance, but when officers arrived they could find no trouble in the area.

While those officers were at the house, Kaden arrived at the Hunt Regional Medical Center emergency room with a gunshot wound and died later at the hospital. ^{[11] [6] [2]}
