Brian Shaw was an American Police officer for the Allegheny County Police who lost his life during a traffic stop after he was shot by Rahmael Sal Holt. ^[0]

Brian was a resident of New Kensington and worked as a Police Officer for the Allegheny County Police. ^[1]

On Friday evening, November 17th, 2017, as Officer Shaw did a traffic stop, Rahmael Sal Holt and Shaw had a struggle.

^[1]Holt then took off on foot with Officer Shaw in pursuit.

As Shaw ran after him, he was shot.

^[4]The shooting occurred at 8:07 p.m. near the 1200 block of Leishman Avenue, according to a supervisor with the Westmoreland County Department of Public Safety.

The officer was taken to Allegheny Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police later recovered an older model of an unoccupied brown Jeep Grand Cherokee, wanted in connection with the shooting.

^[2]Several law enforcement agencies have since launched an investigation.

There is a $40,000 reward for information that could lead to the capture of Holt.
