Brian Encinia was a former Texas State Trooper and a graduate of Texas A&M University.

He made headline news after he arrested Sandra Bland.

He is listed as Hispanic, according to voter records.

Sandra Bland Arrest

On July 10, 2015 he pulled over Sandra Bland for an improper lane change.

An altercation happened and she was arrested by the trooper.

Days after Sandra Bland was arrested, she was found dead in her cell from an apparent suicide.

On January 6, 2016 Brian Encinia was indicted by a grand jury for perjury charges and lying about his report of the altercation with Sandra Bland.

Personal Life

Encinia previously worked at Blue Bell Creameries and was a district chief of the Brenham Fire Department.
