Brent Merrill is a the CEO of Metcap Living Management Inc., one of the leading real estate firm that operates rental buildings throughout the city of Toronto.
Personal Life & Activities
Brent Merrill is a resident of the city of Toronto in the Willowdale neighborhood and has lived there for most of his life. He is one of the most highly-regarded businessmen in the Real estate industry of Canada. He has won numerous awards for his efforts, and has numerous partnerships with several companies.
In 2005, after being in the firm for more than 15 years, he purchased Metcap from the estate.
He took the company under his wing and with his leadership they were very successful in adding 4,000 units to their 12,000 total.
They operate more $1 Billion worth of residential estate.

Brent joined MetCap Living in 1990 as Vice President of Finance after spending five years as a manager of Mergers & Acquisitions at Price Waterhouse.
Previously he had been MetCap Living's Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President.
Brent had also started as one of the accountants in the company.

rent works closely with the senior management team, and under his leadership MetCap Living Management Inc. has added an additional 1,500 units to the portfolio.
Brent sits on the FRPO Board and is an active member in the Multi-Family community.

Classic Cars

Merrill likes to buy cars restored by the best marque specialists – in this case, Joseph Morgan, of Windham, N.H.
He addresses issues as they arise, and early this year delivered his car to RM Restoration in Blenheim, Ont., in preparation for Pebble Beach.
Merrill started out collecting 1950s American cars.
He was looking for more at the 2005 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction when an apple-green 1932 Auburn Boattail Speedster caught his eye.
No fins!
Yet its body tapered so sweetly to its conclusion, he couldn’t resist.
As he recalls, he paid $375,000.
He has won numerous awards.
High Rent Controversy

On May 30th, 2017, Merrill drover over to pick up one of his associates who was stuck in a bind as protesters at the building he was at began to yell at him and harass him.
Once Merrill arrived, the two could no longer manage the the high amount people arguing
with them so they decided to take off.
One of the protester insisted on speaking with Merrill and his friend to the point that Merrill did not have the patience to wait for the man, Kevin Laforest, to move out of the way.
Merrill press on the gas pedal drives forward, nearly running over the protester.
Merrill told the Star he had come to the aid of a property manager who he claimed was being threatened by protesters.
He said he picked up the manager on Tyndall Ave.
Merrill has said he has made repeated attempts to manage the repair issues and the rent hikes are needed for capital repairs in the older buildings.
He has yet to offer a public statement over the recent incident.
