Brandyn Burnette is a Soul, Pop Singer, Songwriter, and Multi-instrumentalist. He is a Musician known for having been a contender on the final season of American Idol.
He was born in Boca Raton, Florida as the son of Capitol Records R&B artist O'Bryan, who hit the Billboard charts in the 1980s with Gigolo. He grew up surrounded by his father's music and influences and learned to play the piano at the age of seven. At the age of 13 he learned to play the guitar, and wrote songs in the genres between Soul and Pop. [1]
He graduated from New York University on a full scholarship in Musical theatre and Acting- by the time he attended University, he had already assembled a catalog of 80 songs. [1]
He played gigs wherever he could and got the attention of Music industry execs for his songwriting style of catchy songs. he recorded a demo with the help of an Audio Engineering student that found its way to the ears of Ric Aliberte who later became his manager and secured him a publishing deal with Sony/ATV in Sweden. Burnette continued to play gigs, hone his songwriting, and collaborated with several first-tier songwriters and producers.
Initially, he signed with Warner Bros., which was set to release his mixtape The Couch Surfing Chronicles in 2014. However, the EP -- spearheaded by the radio single "Thanks for Nothing" -- was scrapped and he left the label. [1]
He has toured with John Mayer and James Bay, and also penned hits for MKTO, Jake Miller, and Charlie Puth. His first official EP, Made of Dreams, was released in late 2015. [1]
