Brandi Smith was born in the small village of Umpqua, Douglas County, Oregon having a population of just 112.

Brandi Smith studied Theater Activities, Forensic studies at Roseburg High School from 1996 to 2000. She studied Journalism at Umpqua Community College. She is a graduate of the University of Oregon, where she obtained a degree in Electronic media.

Brandi Smith started her career as a Multimedia Journalist at KPIC-TV channel. She researched stories, conducted interviews and also set to source network and created newscasts and published stories on the Internet. She learned basic journalism skills in her stay at KPIC over the duration of one and half year. In 2013, She joined Fisher Communications as a News Intern and worked as a shadow journalist for reporters ,producers and anchors at KVAL-TV. She was honored and invited as a freelance sports reporter Campus Insiders, Chicago. She hosted an Online Segment regarding 117th Oregon Civil War. She also worked as Freelance reporter for Northwest Christian University in 2013-14. She joined NewsFix and Eyeopener in 2015 and worked as an Associate Producer for 15 months. She enhanced skill by writing graphical stories and produced weather and Traffic and also web content. She started and produced weekly 'Dumbass of of the Day Segment'. She continued to work as a freelance writer and reporter for RIFF Magazine and Red News Commercial estate from 2015 to 2017.

She joined the KHOU news station in 2017 and still working there as a Multimedia Journalist and social media anchor for campaign #HTownRus. She handles KHOU 11's morning newscast on weekdays.^[1]
