Brandi dated Jaquan for about four years before they separated and she moved away.

On July 7, 2017, Brandi, her lesbian lover, Lakesha Lewis, and Lewis' mother, Callene Barton, were arrested in connection to the beating death of Xavier. ^{[undefined] [undefined]}

The incident occurred early that Friday morning, where Brandi's son was brutally beaten with a plastic wand.

Brandi was awakened to the sound of Callene Barton yelling at Xavier for drinking milk from a jug and eating yogurt. ^{[undefined] [undefined]}

It was then that Lakesha grabbed the wand used to operate blinds, and delivered blows to Xavier until the plastic piece broke.

Brandi grabbed her son and ran back to her bedroom, but Callen Barton came after them and grabbed Xavier by his arm and leg and tossed him down the hallway.

Brandi tried to call the police, but Barton knocked the phone from her hand and threatened to end her life if she called police.

Brandi then ran to a neighbor’s unit at Eagle Landing Apartments at 4514 Silver Star Road and called authorities.

Deputies arrived at the apartment just after noon and found Xavier barely breathing.

He was transported to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children where he was pronounced dead at 4:35 p.m local time. ^{[undefined] [undefined]}

Barton and Lewis are in Orange County jail held without bond, while Brandi is also jailed on $2,500 bond. ^{[undefined] [undefined]}
