On August 2, 2016 Boots Stanley and Steven Sadler posted a Snapchat story of them torturing a dog by slitting its throat and choking the dog while riding a horse.

The incident happened at a horse auction pen in Bastrop, Louisiana.

The two men were both charged with a count each of animal cruelty and conspiracy.

If convicted they face up to 10 years in jail and a fine of $25,000.

After their arrest, the men were released after making bail.

Hanna Gospin follows one of the users on the Snapchat and was horrified by the video and posted it on her Facebook page to expose Boots and Steven.

That video has since been viewed more than 5,000 times.

'I'm not scratching out a name in hopes that this person will never own a dog again,' Gospin wrote about the video.

Police immediately started investigating, and the next day two men turned themselves in.

In the video, one of the men is seen wrapping a rope tightly around the dog's neck while comparing himself to Michael Vick, an NFL player who was convicted and jailed for animal cruelty after running a dog fighting ring.

In the next cut, the dog is seen dangling by his leash off the back of a horse - the dog's collar constricting his breathing.

The video ended with Steven slitting the dog's throat several times with a knife.
