Bina Venkataraman is senior advisor for climate change innovation in the Obama administration.
Her charge is to stimulate entrepreneurship and data-driven, creative actions by communities, companies, and citizens to respond to the changing climate.
Venkataraman is currently on leave from teaching at MIT and directing global policy initiatives at the Broad Institute.
She is a former journalist who wrote for The New York Times and The Boston Globe and the recipient of a Fulbright, Princeton in Asia fellowship, Metcalf fellowship, and James Reston fellowship.
She has worked in India, Alaska, Cuba, Mexico, and Vietnam.
