Billy Monroe Jones is the suspect for the killing of a deputy and police officer during a stand-off in Sebastian County, Arkansas.

He has been taken into custody.

Billy's father had called authorities to inform them that Billy had pulled a gun on him.

^[4]Jones was arrested in February on charges of possession of a firearm.

He has a previous felony conviction for possession of Oxycodone- he pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Stand Off

Billy barricaded himself inside a home on Highway 253 and Boone Road, 7:15 AM - the road was blocked north and south directions for hours while the standoff took place.

A negotiation took place and the authorities convinced him to come out with his hands up.

The officers claim that he wanted to cause a "ruckus" prior to his court appearance.

The stand off led to the shooting of a Corporal officer Cooper, a beloved member in the community.
