On April 5, 2017, Ben Ketola made history by throwing the fastest perfect game.
He threw 12 consecutive strikes in 1 minute 26.9 seconds (86.9 seconds).
The previous record was set by professional bowler Tom Dougherty, who threw a perfect 300 in 1 minute 50.99 seconds.
He recorded it and posted a video of it on YouTube in 2015.
Ben Ketola stated that he was inspired to break the record after watching the video.
He used 8 of his own Storm and Roto Grip balls and two alley balls in setting his record.
He accomplished the feat after a ladies league night finished.
Ketola's co-worker John Bishop challenged Ketola to score a perfect 300 after their shift was over.
Bishop recorded Ben Ketola's perfect game on his cell phone.

According to Ketola, he tried to break the record 3 times on April 1.
However, his best effort was 11 out of 12 strikes in 1 minute 35 seconds; he started that attempt with 7 straight strikes.

Ben Ketola currently works as a staff member at the 281 Bowl in Cortland, New York. He is also a sous chef at the Sunset Grill.
He has held other positions in the field of culinary arts.
He was also a line cook at Applebee's and the chef de cuisine at a local restaurant in Ithaca, New York called the BoatYard Grill.
