Beka Jakeli
Beka Jakeli works for the Regional Programme for Europe at the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), where he is responsible for political relations with countries in Europe.
One of his key projects is a new study “Tourism in Europe: Working Together Towards 2030”, exploring the perspectives of European tourism on the economic recovery, emerging markets, competitiveness and cooperation to ensure the sector´s long-term growth.
Earlier Mr. Jakeli worked in Georgian National Tourism Administration in different managerial positions.
From 2008 to 2012 he was Deputy Chairman of this organization.
In 2011, by decree of the President of Georgia Mr. Jakeli was awarded with the Order of Honor for his special contribution to the development of tourism industry.
In 2005 Mr. Beka Jakeli obtained MBA in Hospitality and International Tourism Commerce and Marketing.
