Beau Solomon
Beau Solomon was a 19 year old personal finance student who went missing in Italy and was subsequently found dead in a river.
He was a student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Madison, Wisconsin. Previously, he studied at Southwest Wisconsin Technical College and University of Wisconsin-Richland. He lives in Spring Green, Wisconsin and is originally from Livingston, Wisconsin. His parents are Nick and Jodi Solomon. He has three brothers Max, Jake and Cole Solomon.
Beau battled cancer for 10 years until the age of 12, after which he went on to participate in high school sports, work as a camp counselor for Badger Boys State and teach at youth quarterback camps around Wisconsin.
In high school, Beau played basketball, golf, and football, making all-conference as a quarterback for the River Valley High School football team.
On Thursday June 30, 2016 Beau went to John Cabot University in Rome, Italy for a summer exchange program.
Disappearance
Beau went missing on June 30, 2016 the first day of his exchange at John Cabot University in Rome, Italy. He went to a bar in Rome with friends when the group, upon leaving, noticed he had disappeared.
His friends reported him missing the next day when he did not show up for classes.
His parents Nick and Jodi Solomon have flown to Rome to help look for him. Both Italian and American authorities are searching for Beau.
Beau's credit card was used after his disappearance with over $1,500 being charged to the card.
Death
Beau Solomon was found dead on Sunday July 4, 2016 in the Tiber River in Rome, Italy after he went missing at a bar four days earlier.
John Cabot University where he was studying has said that police are investigating Beau's death as a crime.
Jake Solomon said "In our family, he (Beau) is the one who does it all right.
He's an incredible athlete.
He is the one that keeps us all together," Jake also said of his brother "He was driven, career oriented," and that his brother is a cancer survivor.
A friend from high school Abby Korenchan said that she, "assumed he (Beau) was unreachable because he was the quarterback … he was always really nice to everybody."
