Ayush Sood is a technology entrepreneur based out of Palo Alto, California. He is currently the CEO and Founder of Kofa, a data science consulting firm. Early Life

Ayush Sood attended Shaker Heights High School in Shaker Heights, Ohio a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. While at Shaker, was involved in Debate Team, Model UN, National History Day, and the Boy Scouts of America. [1]

Education

Ayush Sood graduated with a Bachelor of Science in both Computer Science and Electrical Engineering with a focus in Mechatronics from Stanford University. At Stanford, Sood was a recipient of the President's Award for Academic Excellence, inducted into the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society, and a recipient of the Terman Engineering Award for graduating in the top 5% of engineers at the university. Career

Ayush Sood is currently the CEO and Founder of Kofa, a data science consulting firm. He founded the company in June 2016 with Karanveer Mohan. At Kota, Sood works alongside engineering and machine learning experts from Palantir, Google, Dropbox, Pinterest, Stanford, and Berkeley to build the data fabric that powers business outcomes. He is also currently an Investment Scout for Sequoia Capital. [undefined] [1]

Sood previously worked in Business and Product at Palantir Technologies after they acquired his company FT Technologies. At Palantir, he helped solve data problems in many industries, including oil and gas, media, energy, insurance, CPG, and manufacturing. [undefined] [1]

In August 2014, Sood founded FT Technologies with Karanveer Mohan. The company built pricing, predictive modeling, and analytical tools for the retail industry. Sood was the company's CTO. He lead FT Technologies to an acquisition by Palantir in February 2015. [undefined] [1]

Sood was previously a Software and Hardware Engineer at Electric Imp. He worked on a wide variety of software and hardware initiatives. He also implemented a full stack redesign of all client facing software and was responsible for making decisions about the high level software architecture, API, and UI / UX of client-facing software. In 2012, Sood was a Software Engineer at Dropbox. He started the photos team as an intern at Dropbox – now renamed and branded as Carousel. In this role, he worked with the large assortment of photographs on Dropbox to create highly efficient and patented infrastructure for managing, displaying, and sharing collections of photos. [1]

He previously worked as an iOS Engineer at Dropbox. Sood was responsible for upgrading the Dropbox's iPhone and iPad applications with a wide range of new features. He also restructured Dropbox's internal API and performed corresponding backend optimizations for a better mobile and web experience. [1]

Sood was previously a Frontend Development Engineer at Micromobs where he worked on re-designing and re-implementing the user facing parts of the micromobs website.

From 2005-2011, Sood was an Independent Web Developer and DevOps Consultant. He was responsible for creating interactive websites that fit clients' criteria. Sood implemented and deployed numerous websites for individual artists, law firms, realtors, and real estate firms, among others. He also repaired computers and networking issues based on clients' needs. [1]

In the summer of 2009, Sood worked as a Software Engineer at NASA Glenn Research Center. As part of the LERCIP program, he worked alongside computer engineers at the NASA Glenn Research Center. Sood was responsible for integrating NsDs charts into an aviation simulation system called the Numerical Propulsion System Simulation (NPSS). It is now used to model and simulate parts of aircrafts, such as engines, compressors, inlets, burners, etc. [1]

In the summer 2008, Sood worked as an Electrical and Computer Engineering Researcher at Case Western Reserve University. He designed a robot capable of tracking, in real-time, an individual in a crowded street. The robot ran in the Komen Race for the Cure. He was also responsible for building a low-level control system, including full PID control, on a NI FPGA board. Sood also worked on higher-level vision tracking done in Python and with the aid of NI Vision. [1]

In 2014, while working for Dropbox Ayush Sood authored the patent, "Continuous Content Item View Enhance Through Smart Loading" with Chris Beckmann, Ramesh Balakrishnan, Rajeev Nayak, and Yi Wei. The patent discloses systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media for a continuous photo view on a browser-type application. The system can receive a request to display a set of images associated with a user account. The system can generate a web page based on a size of the content items, the web page having a respective placeholder for each of the content items in an area of the web page that is relative to a visible portion of the web page, wherein the web page can provide a continuous presentation of the content items on a device, and wherein the web page can be configured to dynamically load and unload content items based on a current position of the web page. Ayush Sood has volunteered with many organizations including the Nephrology Department at University Hospitals of Cleveland, Boy Scouts of America, Student Group on Race Relations (SGORR), and LifeBanc. [1]
