Death
On Sunday April 8, 2018, Gaines was shot and killed by his friend Casey James Lawhorn at Lawhorn's residence in East Ridge, Tennessee. [undefined]
Lawhorn went on to give graphic details about their deaths in a public Facebook post, stating he shot Gaines as he lay sleeping on the floor. He said it appeared Gaines died instantly. [undefined]
He then went into his mother's room and it took him multiple trips and at least four shots as his gun kept jamming.
Both were shot in the head.
