Ava Rose Doris was a student at Gilford High School. ^{[1] [undefined]} She died in a car accident during her sophomore year after her car veered off the roadway and hit a tree. Ava had just gotten her driver's license before she died. ^[undefined]

On March 14, 2017, the Gilford Police Department responded to a single-vehicle accident on Route 11A in the vicinity of Rocky Road at about 7 a.m. where they encountered a vehicle that had left the roadway and hit a tree. ^[1]

Ava was identified as the victim in the crash.
