Armin Schmieider was a BASE jumper from Italy. He lived in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany and has a young child. He was an experienced skydiver but had only started wingsuit flying in 2015.
Death
On August 27, 2016 Armin Schmieider died while skydiving in a wingsuit in the Swiss Alps. He had live streamed the jump on Facebook Live.
In the live stream to his fans, Armin said "today you fly with me," as he put his wingsuit on and prepared for the jump.
Armin performed the jump at a popular BASE jumping spot at the top of a mountain near Kandersteg, Switzerland.
