Criminal Convictions
On August 30, 2016 Antonio Hollywood Campbell was convicted of the misdemeanor of assault with a deadly weapon, principal (criminal law) from an incident of March 8, 2016. He was also convicted of the misdemeanor of simple assault from an incident on April 1, 2016. For these crimes Antonio Hollywood Campbell was given a suspended sentence and 12 months of probation. Puppy Decapitation and Domestic Violence Incident
In November, 2017 Antonio Hollywood Campbell strangled his girlfriend Jordon Stevens and decapitated her puppy after she tried to leave their relationship.
On November 17, 2017 Jordon Stevens told deputies that she went to Cape Fear Hospital because she was having pains in her neck from being choked by her boyfriend, 18 year old Antonio Hollywood Campbell.
Stevens said she was at Antonio Hollywood Campbell’s house located in the 1500 block of Gillespie Street in Fayetteville, North Carolina.. She was upset with Campbell so she went to his bedroom and called her mother to come pick her up. Campbell began accusing his girlfriend, Jordon Stevens of “talking to” other males and snatched the mobile phone from her hand. He then pushed Jordon Stevens face down onto the bed, sat on her back and placed his arms around her neck and began to squeeze, chocking her. Jordon Stevens managed to work her way out of Campbell’s arm when he grabbed her by the throat with both hands and began to squeeze very hard. She said she could not breathe or scream and lost her vision. [undefined] [undefined]
She went on to say approximately three weeks ago she was at Campbell’s residence when he became upset and stated, “Well if you ain’t gonna be with me, then I am going to kill the dog.”
He tied a leash around the neck of the puppy and began to spin the dog around in the air by the leash.
He then tied the leash to the back of a vehicle and drove several feet dragging the puppy behind.
Campbell finally placed the puppy between two cinder blocks so it cannot move.
Campbell took a hatchet and decapitated the puppy. [undefined]
On November 20, 2017, Detectives of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search warrant at Campbell’s residence. The detectives were able to locate the cinder block, hatchet, and remains of the puppy. During the search of the residence a sawed off shotgun was also located. [undefined]
Charges
The detectives charged Campbell with domestic violence felony strangulation for the assault on Stevens, animal cruelty, and possession of a weapon of mass destruction. With the domestic violence charge, the magistrate does not set a bond, the defendant is held for the next sitting of a judge to receive a bond. [undefined]
On November 21, 2017 during the afternoon session of first appearances a judge set Campbell’s bond at $137,500 secured.
