Anita Rao is the Managing editor r and regular host for The State of Things, WUNC (FM)'s daily live talk show. She is a Journalist, podcaster and storyteller based in Durham, North Carolina.[1][6]
Career
Anita fell in love with interviewing and storytelling as a Women's Studies and International Studies major at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and began her radio career at WUNC (FM) as an intern for the nationally distributed public radio program The Story. From 2011 - 2014, she worked for the Peabody Award-winning StoryCorps Production department, where she pitched, edited and produced conversations from across the nation--from Chicago, IL to Pineville North Carolina.[2]
In her day job, She serves as the managing editor and regular host of The State of Things, North Carolina Public Radio WUNC's flagship daily, live talk show. On that program She launched and host the recurring series "Embodied: Conversations about Sex, Relationships & Your Health." In her spare time she co-host and produce a podcast and radio show about millennial feminism called "She and Her."[3][4]
She oversees daily editorial direction and production of North Carolina's most-listened to public radio talk show.
She supervises three produces, facilitates and directs live, remote broadcast events, coordinates collaborations with the WUNC news department and other public radio stations.
Books and produces news, arts and culture, and concept segments for a host-driven show exploring the places and personalities of North Carolina
