Anirut Malee is a Thai Police officer for Huay Kwang police department in Bangkok. ^[5]

On June 17th, 2017, ^[4]while inside of the Huay Kwang police station in Bangkok, Thailand, a man 45 years of age began attempting to unleash an attack on Anirut, who stood there looking after the man.

In the confrontation, the man has the knife out pointed toward Anirut who instead of neutralizing him to the ground, he begins to communicate with the man one on one.

Anirut makes a gesture with his arms opened wide to indicate to the man that he is

defenseless and motions to another police officer down the hall to ease back.

After After speaking with the man and instilling sense into him, the man gives Anirut the knife.

Anirut then walks over to the frightened man and gives him a big hug.

Anirut stated that the man has been going through an unfortunate time.

^[6]He had his guitar stolen and had not been paid yet for his services as a security guard.

Anirut said to the man that he had a guitar to give him and even invited him to go out to eat.

The man has since been taken to a hospital to evaluate his mental state.
