Angela Gonzalez, or Angie, is a Senior Reporter at Phoenix Business Journal. She lives and works in Phoenix, Arizona. [1]In her writing, she covers mainly health care, biotech, and education/workforce development. [3]She has worked at Phoenix Business Journal since 1987. She is also an active member of the Arizona Latino Media Association.

Over the years, Gonzalez has balanced a highly active career in reporting breaking news in the world of business, strong participation in the community of Latino journalists, a beautiful family, and a love of singing.

Personal Life

Gonzalez was born in 1965 and grew up in Fort Morgan, Colorado.

In 1983, she graduated from Fort Morgan High School.

She married Peter Gonzalez on May 26th, 1990 and they have 3 children.

[6]Her children attended Washington High School in Phoenix where she was president of the Parent Teacher Organization and a member of the school council. [1]Her children are Nicholas, Anthony, and Alicia. Nicholas studied Business law, Anthony studied Health Sciences, and Alicia studied Broadcast journalism, all at Arizona State University. [6]

In her free time, Gonzalez is very active in her church.

She attends St. Daniel the Prophet Catholic Church is Scottsdale, Arizona where she works as a Cantor. She also cantors at St. Louis the King Catholic church in Glendale, Arizona. [6]Since 2013, Gonzalez has also been a board member of the Latino Media Association since 2013. [1]

Education

Gonzalez received her Associate of the Arts from Red Rocks Community College in Colorado in 1985. There she was a member of Phi Theta Kappa. In 1987, she received her Bachelor of the Arts in Technical Journal from Colorado State University. At Colorado State, she was a member of the Jazz Choir and worked as MEChA secretary. [1]She was also a Student Officer in her final year. [6]

Career

After graduating from Colorado State University, Gonzalez got a position reporting for Phoenix Business Journal and has worked there for 29 years.

[1]Phoenix Business Journal is a local 24/7 business news intelligence reporting through print and online to an audience of about 60,000 readers.

It is owned by the larger corporation, American City Business Journals. [3]

Gonzalez focuses on health care, biotech, and education or workforce development.

Over the years, she has also covered stories about commercial and residential real estate, banking and financial services, and media and marketing.

[3]Gonzalez got her position at Phoenix Business Journal just four months after she graduated and moved to the Valley.

She started as a reporter and eventually moved her way up to Senior Reporter.
