McNicol’s 360-degree approach to publishing in the digital age has opened new revenue streams for her clients, such as CEO and founder of Nasty Gal Sophia Amoruso, whose bestseller, “#Girlboss,” was optioned by Charlize Theron’s production company.

While the agent is helping clients (including Chrissy Teigen, who’s got a cookbook due in 2016 as well as an ABC syndicated talkshow gig) figure out the best way to engage fans, her motivation is basic.

“My core, my love, is content and communication,” says McNicol.
