Nyberg started his career as a graphic designer at SPX Sports, where he developed promotional and artistic materials, designed flyers, programs, posters, banners, flags and wall graphics for schools and businesses around the country.

From 2013-2015, he worked for Panic Football and was responsible for design and maintenance of brand and identity for the Semi-Pro Football team.

His duties also included website design and maintenance, branding, and marketing materials.[1]

From 2014-2015, Nyberg was a graphic designer at The Visual Identity Vault and Brite Idea Marketing & Consulting LLC. He worked individually to develop ads and illustrated designs for local discount magazine, and also designed flyers, posters, banners, post cards, business cards, letterheads, stationary, vehicle wraps, banner ads, TV commercials, promotional products and apparel.[1]

Since November 2017, Andrew has been a graphic artist and social media specialist at Mills Automotive Group.[1]

Nyberg also works with sculptures using scavenged metal objects.

He has a wolf titled The Cog of the Wild on display in the Mankato art walk and can be seen on the corner of Main and Second streets. The largest of his sculptures is on display at the Chahinkapa Zoo in Wahpeton, North Dakota. It is a life-sized moose made similarly to the wolf, with random metal objects welded together over a wire frame.[5]

Achievements

Crew Dragon Demo-2 Insignia

In 2019, Nyberg designed insignia for upcoming Crew Dragon Demo-2 NASA mission to the International Space Station. The insignia features the logos of the Commercial Crew Program, Falcon 9, Crew Dragon, and the red chevron of NASA's "meatball" insignia. Also depicted are the American flag and a symbol of the ISS. The words NASA, SpaceX, Hurley and Behnken are printed around the border, along with the words "First crewed flight" and DM-2. The insignia outline is in the shape of the Crew Dragon capsule.[2]

Personal Life

Nyberg's uncle, Douglas G. Hurley, is one of the astronauts assigned to DM2 (Demonstration Mission 2) which will be the first manned mission aboard a U.S.-built craft to the International Space Station since the retirement of the Space Shuttle. He was also the pilot of the very last shuttle mission that retired the program. He is married to his aunt, Karen L. Nyberg, who is also a NASA astronaut and has had two missions aboard the ISS - once on Space Shuttle Discovery in 2008 and another six-month mission during Exp. 36 and 37, which flew on the Russian Soyuz. [5]

In an interview with The Free Press (Mankato), Nyberg told about an offer to create a insignia for Crew Dragon Demo-2:

When Karen was going on her second mission, she commissioned me to create a patch for her mission.

The patch was designed and was even printed and ready for their trip.

At the last minute the commander for the mission changed.

The commander has the final say in the mission patch design and went with one of his own artists.

So my design got tabled.

However, it wasn’t before they had already printed a bunch.

So I at least got a few of those created patches and Karen did fly it alongside their official patch on the ISS.

There is a version of it aboard the ISS to this day.

When Doug got assigned to fly aboard the Dragon Capsule, he asked me if I would be willing to create their mission patch.

Of course I accepted.[5]

His grandfather, Ken Nyberg, is well known for his larger-than-life sculptures that dot the roadside in central and northern Minnesota.[5]
