Andrew Berens is a senior analyst for Bloomberg Industries, Bloomberg Industries, a real-time, interactive industry research platform available on the Bloomberg Professional service at BI.

As a member of the healthcare group, Dr. Berens leads coverage of North American pharmaceuticals and biotechnology.

Prior to joining Bloomberg Industries, Dr. Berens was a biotech analyst at Merrill Lynch and at Citigroup.

He has also worked in the business development division at Ikaria Pharmaceuticals, where he was involved with in-licensing of pharmaceutical compounds, acquisitions and deal structure.

Before working in financial services and pharmaceuticals, Dr. Berens was an emergency medicine physician, as well as the head of emergency medical services in the greater New Orleans area for EmCare, a subsidiary of Laidlaw. Dr. Berens earned his bachelor’s of arts degree in English literature from Tulane University.

He earned his master’s degree in business administration from Columbia University and the London Business School.

Dr. Berens earned his Doctor of Medicine from Emory University.
