Andrei Taraschuk is a software engineer and entrepreneur based in Boulder, Colorado. [1]
Early Life and Education
Taraschuk is originally from Russia. He attended Kuban State University where he studied applied arts. [1] Taraschuk moved to the United States and enrolled into the Art Institute of Colorado where he earned a BA in interactive media in 2004. [1]
Career
Career Beginnings
Early in his career, Taraschuk was an interactive developer for the Asaca Shikasku Corporation and web developer for CH2M HILL.
[1] In 2006, Taraschuk became the co-founder and systems architect for VideoBloom and was responsible for the technical vision and the implementation of VideoBloom's video management platform.
[1] In addition, he led the company's team from the development of the initial prototype to a fully-featured distributed system and developed interactive video applications for both clients and internal use.
Entrepreneurial Ventures
Around the same time, Taraschuk was founder and CEO of two organizations, AFComponents and UMapper. [1] While at AFComponents, Taraschuk was responsible for technical product vision, technical implementation and company operations. [1] He developed one of the first Flash mapping APIs, GMap, which was acquired by Google in 2007. [1] AFComponents would be acquired by ProContent in 2010. [1]
During his tenure at UMapper, he led the development of UMap Mapping API and UMapper.com which was a software as a service products. [1] UMapper customers included First American Core Logic, Bloomberg, Nokia, National Geographic, Boston.com, StarTribune, USA Today and more. [1]
Employment
Taraschuk became the head of visualization at GeoIQ and lead the development of GeoIQ’s bitmap visualization engine (codename Sputnik) which launched in June 2011.
[1] Furthermore, he provided support to GeoIQ's clients such as the WWF, World Bank, Pepsi, and others. [1] In 2012, he became the engineering director for Closely which helps local merchants and business interact with their customers through social and mobile marketing. [1] While there, he developed Closely's small business application, Perch, from prototype to market ready application for Android and iOS.
From January 2013 to April 2016, Taraschuk was the director of engineering at Mobile System 7 and joined shortly after its founding.
[1] He was responsible for the design, architecture and the development of MS7's UIs and Data Visualization modules which encompasses everything from Photoshop mock-ups to the deployment of the production code.

Projects

Sandro Botticelli Bot Account
Taraschuk is the founder of Off The Easel which provides social media management specifically for artists. The service includes analytics, automation, intelligent sharing, and posting on multiple platforms. Over 100,000 different pieces of arts has been shared by their users. He was initially inspired to start Off The Easel in order to help his sister with the social media marketing of her artwork.
In his free time, Taraschuk enjoys creating Twitter bots that tweet that artwork of prominent artists. One such account is of Sandro Botticelli. As of July 2018, he had created 222 different Twitter bot art accounts.
