Ana Brdarić Boljat (born March 4th, 1980) is a Croatian newscaster, editor and one of the faces of the news show RTL danas for RTL Televizija. ^[5]She has been a part of the informative show ever since the channel, RTL, initially started to transmit in Croatia. Brdarić Boljat is, hence, central to the very show and has become a well recognized figure to the average Croatian. ^[4]She has stated that her life motto is "To see, to experience and to know how to tell others". [16]

Ana Brdarić Boljat was born in Varaždin ^[5]- a small town in northern Croatia. Her father was himself a journalist and an editor for the noteworthy daily Croatian paper Vjesnik, while her mother worked as an actress in Varaždin. ^[8]There she also attended high school at the grammar school Prva gimnazija Varaždin ^[6], one of the most academically inclined schools in the region. Even after leaving the town to live in Zagreb, Brdarić Boljat still thinks of her hometown fondly and visits it to get away from the dynamic capital where she know presides. ^[9]After high school, she studied journalism at the Faculty of Political Science of Zagreb University (Fakultet političkih znanosti Zagreb). [7] However, she has since stated that she had not initially considered journalism and if life had not taken her in that direction, she might have been more prone to life as a physicist, or a similar scientific pursuit. ^[6]

Immediately after Ana Brdarić Boljat left Varaždin to study in Zagreb, she got a job in OTV, where she worked as a journalist. ^[5]After working for OTV, she worked briefly as a news anchor for CCN.

Brdarić Boljat first began to work for RTL television as a journalist and later on as a newscaster as which she still works today. ^[5]As both a newscaster and editor for the informative show RTL danas, she starts her day at 10:30 AM and ends it at 7:30 PM. ^[9]

She had taken personal leave for the show for a year and half, returning in April 2016.

Brdarić Boljat has also been awarded for success in the news chair in 2006 when she was given "Večernjakov ekran" - a Croatian TV broadcasting award - in the category Female TV personality for informative and cultural content. ^[5]She has been quoted saying that her journalistic career has most been attributed to by her stubbornness, curiosity and her childlike buoyancy. ^[6]

She married Marko Boljat, a Croatian singer, on New Years Eve of 2009 ^[5]after the couple had dated for eight years. ^[13]The couple had a son in 2010, who they named Ante, and a daughter, named Cvita, in 2015. ^[10]After giving birth to her daughter the journalist took a year and a half hiatus from working on RTL danas, during which time she focused on her newly born daughter and son. ^[10]While the hiatus was well used with her family, Ana Brdarić Boljat has stated that she had missed the adrenaline and the fast pace of a newsroom. ^[4]
