Education
Amy earned a Bachelor of Arts Magna cum laude in English Literature from Rhodes College.
[0]She was elected Phi Beta Kappa.
She earned her Juris Doctor, Summa cum laude, from Notre Dame, where she was a Kiley Fellow, earned the Hoynes Prize, the Law School’s highest honor, and served as executive editor of the Notre Dame Law Review.
Amy has taught a variety of classes, predominately on Federal Courts, Constitutional law and the role of the Judicial Branch in the United States.
Career
Barrett has served as a visiting associate professor and John M. Olin Fellow in Law at the George Washington University Law School and as a visiting associate professor of law at the University of Virginia.
Amy was appointed to the United States Court of Appeals 7th Circuit by Donald Trump.
She assumed office on November 2nd of 2017.
Barrett is currently one of the 25 nominees for the vacancy by Anthony Kennedy.
Personal Life
Amy is a member of the Federalist Society.
She is a member of a small, tightly knit Christian group called People of Praise.
