The 17-month old child, Avery McCoy, weighed 11 pounds when she was found unresponsive in her crib on November 9, 2016, in the family's rural Riverside, Iowa home.
Her exact cause of death was undetermined, however a forensic pathologist determined that malnutrition and neglect significantly contributed.
Chrzan was taken to the Iowa Women’s Correctional Center in Mitchellville, Iowa, after sentencing according to court documents.
She was also ordered to pay $150,000 in restitution.
After the guilty verdict in May 2018, Chrzan's defense asked for a new trial, claiming the jury's decision was "contrary to the law and evidence presented at trial."
The motion was denied by Judge Myron Gookin, who said the evidence supported the state's claim that Chrzan deprived Avery of necessary food or health care.
Avery's father, Anthony Lamont McCoy, pleaded guilty in late May to child endangerment and involuntary manslaughter in her death.
McCoy's sentencing was set for August 3, 2018 at the Washington County Courthouse.

Once she caught up to her weight of more than 14 pounds, Avery was placed back in the care of Chrzan in December 2015.
She continued to do well a month later, according to court documents.
But Chrzan and her child did not show at later appointments in March and May 2016, authorities said.
At a July appointment when Chrzan brought Avery, a doctor expressed concern the girl had lost weight, recommending a follow-up with a pediatric specialist at the University of Iowa hospital.
Chrzan found Avery dead at their home on Poplar Boulevard in Riverside, Iowa, a Washington County, Iowa city of about 1,000 residents.
In her obituary, family members said Avery had 11 siblings.
The toddler enjoyed "riding in her wagon" and having her picture taken, according to the obituary.
