Amani Al-Khatahtbeh is a writer and tech entrepreneur based in Brooklyn, New York.

^[2]Amani is the author ofMuslim Girl: A Coming of Agepublished by Simon & Schuster.^[3] Her book discusses the rise of Islamophobia in the U.S. and the racial tensions exacerbated by political hate speech and community shootings.

The book touches on her personal experiences growing up Muslim in a post-9/11 Western society.

She founded the website MuslimGirl.com in 2009, which is a blog for Muslim women in the U.S. ^[4] It is a space for women to discuss Islam and "random issues or girly topics."

The website's tagline is "Muslim Women Talk Back”.^[0]

Amani studied at Rutgers University in New Jersey and graduated in 2014.

Amani was a Lloyd Gardner Fellow and a Women’s Leadership Scholar at Rutgers University.

She led several independent studies on the Arab Spring and Middle Eastern politics as a student.

She is also a blogger for Atlantic Council, a foreign policy think tank in Washington, D.C. ^[5]

She made Forbes 30 Under 30 list for 2016, making her the first veiled woman to be honored in the media category and MuslimGirl.com the first Muslim company to ever receive the recognition.
