Amanda Pizarro is an American entrepreneur based in Miami, Florida. She is the Founder and Co-Owner of The Salty Donut. Amanda was chosen to the Forbes 30 Under 30 in 2018 for the category of Food & Drink.
Education
Amanda Pizarro has been baking since she was 10 years old and has always had an entrepreneurial spirit to the point where she would hand out business cards advertising her baking expertise.
She briefly attended Florida International University before transferring to the University of Miami. An active student, Amanda was a member of the Golden Key Society, member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Vice President of Finance of the pledge class of Delta Sigma Pi Professional Fraternity.
Career
Alongside her husband Andy Rodriguez, they cofunded the salty in Miami after traveling to different cities around the world.
The plan came to fruition in fall of 2015 when Amanda took her first marketing course at UM was to design a business plan.
She convinced her group members to do one for a doughnut shop which eventually came into reality as a pop-up shop in Miami.
A year later, they opened a store in Miami and has achieved considerable success.
