Alonso Enrique Guillen was a Mexican Disc jockey for many years in the county of Lufkin, Texas. He died during the Texas flood in Houston due to Hurricane Harvey. [1]
Background
Early Life
Born in Piedras Negras Coahuila, a boarder town in Mexico he came to the United States with his olders brothers and settled in the state of Texas, where he lived for most of his life.
Career
Alonso was a Disc jockey for KSML-FM for the 101.9 Supermix program.
Hurricane Harvey
Throughout the days leading up to Hurricane Harvey arriving in Texas, Alonso would share on his Social media the news concerning evacuation and the weather conditions.
Alonso proceded to head south from his home in Lufkin with a borrowed boat.
He was intent in helping flood survivors.
He and two friends set off at midnight on August 29th, 2017 - they were never seen again or heard from the following day on Wednesday.
On Sunday, September 3rd, 2017, his body was recovered from the flood waters.
On September 3ed, 2017, a GoFundMe account was created in order to help with his funeral.
Personal Life
Alonso was a recipient of DACA.
His father is a United Sates Legal resident.
