Alohar
Alohar Mobile was founded by the former Platform Architect of Google’s Location Server Platform, Sam Liang.
He led the team that powers the “blue dot” location service in tens of thousands of mobile apps.
i.e. the guy that built that thing called Google Maps.
Liang started the company with Stanford alumni, Larry Wang and Alvin Lau.
Alohar was funded by notable angel investors, including David Cheriton, the first investor in Google, Fortinet founder and CEO Ken Xie, and Tim Draper of Draper Fisher Jurvetson.
Alohar was acquired by Alibaba Group Holdings LTD in the build up to their record breaking $25 Billion dollar IPO.
