Aliyu Abdulhameed is an agricultural economist with over 30 years hands-on post qualification experience in agricultural value chains and markets in Sub-Sahara Africa. He has been working with both public and private sector organisations in Nigeria.

After finishing his secondary education at Government Secondary School Mubi he gained admission into Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and obtained a bachelor of science degree in agricultural economics and rural sociology. He went further to Nigerian Defence Academy and obtained a master of public administration (MPA). He also attended the London School of Business and Finance LSBF and bagged a master's degree int project management.
