Alina Machado is a News Anchor and consumer investigative reporter who currently work at NBC News where she anchors weekend evening news. She has previously worked as a correspondence for CNN, a Freelance Reporter for WSB-TV and a News Reporter for ABC11 Eyewitness News. She is always ready to help consumer problems in South Florida leading NBC 6 Responds team. She graduated from Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.
Education
Alina is a native of Miami, Florida and she got her high school education at Miami Coral Park High School. She also obtained a Master's and Bachelor's degree from Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University where she studies journalism and Broadcast with a minor in Political Science.
Career
Alina Machado made her on air debut at WGEM-TV while she was still in college and she spent her early career years working at local TV stations across the country. She was worked as correspondent at WDAY-TV in Illinois four months and the spent another three months as a Journalism Instructor at Northwestern University.
She worked as a Freelance Writer and Producer at WFLD-TV, Fox Chicago News between May 2004 and June 2005 before she joined WDJT-TV CBS 58 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin in July 2005. She spent four years at Milwaukee working as a Bilingual Anchor and Reporter. She later joined ABC11 Eyewitness News as a News Reporter in November 2011 and then worked at WSB as a Freelance reporter.
She joined CNN as a network correspondence in 2013. At CNN, she covered a lot of stories including the trial of George Zimmerman and his brushes with law, the tainted water supply for hundreds of thousand of residents caused by chemical leak in West Virginia and she also covered the massacre that happened in church at Charleston, South Carolina.
Personal Life
She enjoys spending her leisure time outdoors by walking the dog, going for a bike ride with her husband or playing tennis.
