Alicyn Mitcham was a 17-year-old from Colmesneil, Texas.

Alicyn Mitcham was a student at Colmesneil High School where she was active in her school's community.

Along with being a member of the cheerleader squad and a catcher for her school's softball team, Mitcham was crowned queen of the homecoming court in 2016.

She enjoyed listening to Country music and one of her favorite artists was Cody Johnson. ^[1] Mitcham was a proud Texan and frequently posted about her pride on her Twitter account. ^[1] Mitcham is remembered for having an infectious smile and showing kindness towards others.

On February 15th around 12:30 pm, Mitcham was skiing at Winter Park Resort in Winter Park, Colorado when she fatally struck a tree on one of the resort's runs. The incident happened on Forget-Me-Not, a trail in the resort’s Parsenn Bowl. Mitcham was transported to Denver Health East Grand ER at the base of the mountain where attempts to revive her was unsuccessful and she was shortly pronounced dead by medical examiners.
